    Description

    The Conservation Regulator is seeking an enthusiastic Senior Advisor to manage a diverse and dynamic portfolio of projects and issues with the aim of supporting efficient, transparent and timely regulatory decision-making.

    About the role

    The Senior Advisor works within a supportive team, providing strategic business management, issues management, reporting and governance advice. This includes:

  • Building and maintaining effective internal and external stakeholder relationships;
  • Preparing briefings, papers, correspondence and reports relating to the Conservation Regulator's activities;
  • Leading projects to improve reporting, systems and processes across the Regulator;
  • Leading activities to support culture development across the Regulator.

    • We're looking for someone with:

  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills, who can take into consideration the wider business context when considering options to resolve issues;
  • The ability to adapt systems and processes quickly to changed priorities and situations;
  • Experience in building a culture of collaboration, with the ability to identify and overcome barriers to communication when they emerge.

    The Conservation Regulator is accountable for the delivery of DEECA's direct regulatory responsibilities in timber harvesting, biodiversity, fire prevention and public land use regulation.     Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in social or environmental sciences is desired.
  • Strong analytical skills are required.

    • This is a fixed term part time job-share position available for a period until 30 June 2024. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
