JOB SUMMARY


Empower young men, while incarcerated in the DOC, to expand their awareness of self, find purpose, and set realistic goals as they prepare to re-enter the community from incarceration as part of the Restorative Justice Program.

Work with participants to identify, create, and maintain healthy relationships/community connections.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process intakes/assessment screenings which include the Pre, Post and 60/90day questionnaire
  • Facilitate weekly psychoeducational and supportive workshops using circle practice in the DOC
  • Work with participants individually to identify barriers to setting and achieving personal/professional goals and developing realistic strategies to achieving goals
  • Work with participants to identify barriers to healthy relationships and develop conflict resolution skills/action plans
  • Make community referrals to assist men in their reentry process
  • Work collaboratively with the DOC and DOC contracted programs to assist men in their identified goals
  • Participate in weekly team briefing meetings in the DOC and with the RJ team
  • Maintain accurate records

QUALIFICATIONS

Educational:

  • High School Diploma

Experience:


  • 35 years in a related field

Skills:


  • Interpersonal skills
- group facilitation
- knowledge of program target groups
- awareness of client needs
- ability to effectively interview clients from diverse backgrounds to obtain facts and to recognize relevant case information

$40,000.00 per year
