PRIMARY FUNCTION


Responsible to the Supervisor, Production Operations, performs the following tasks in accordance with Policies and Procedures required to control electrical assembly, control and movement of material from material release through assembly, manufacturing, and kitting.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Performs diversified assembly, rework, repair, inspection and / or complete testing of communication and electronic wire harnesses and coaxial cables and / or electromechanical assemblies & subassemblies. Uses broad range of hand tools and test and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to understand and interpret a variety of complex production documentation to include block diagrams, schematics and engineering diagrams.
  • Assemblers are required to comply with departmental safety requirements, contribute to the quality improvement process, instruct lower level assemblers and communicate within the department and interface with other departments as a function of the position.
  • Must be able to work independently with mínimal supervision.
  • May be required to assist electronic technicians with installation of wire harness assemblies or electromechanical devices in projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and qualified.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Soldering Certification is required as a condition of employment and or advancement in the position.
  • Must be able to follow instructions for problem solving and assist in resolving assembly problems.
  • Must include all requirements for Electrical Assembler II.
  • Demonstrate ability and competence in all areas of experience.
  • Must be able to resolve assembly problems, perform problem solving in coordination with engineering personnel, and interface with functional groups outside the department.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively utilizing the English language.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Seven (7) years of jobrelated experience that demonstrates the knowledge required to perform duties of the position.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be able to operate government generalpurpose vehicles.
  • Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
