The city of Bautzen is looking for individuals with dedication, passion, and expertise.

Together with approximately 500 employees, you will actively work for the administration of one of the most family-friendly medium-sized cities in Germany.

Take on the challenge and apply as a Geoinformatics Specialist (m/f/d) (compensated according to EG 11 TVöD [VKA]) and become a permanent part of the Bautzen city administration, full-time with a weekly working time of 39 hours.

The Department of Digitalization is a so-called cross-department, offering services for the entire city administration and all external offices, and is the control center for digitalization and information processing in the city.

The tasks include IT operations, information security, digitalization, business process management, and geoinformation systems.


Your new tasks include:

  • Operation and further development of the geoinformation management system
  • Maintenance and updating of the city's base map
  • Provision of customized map material
  • Implementation of data from external sources
  • Maintenance of spatial data in the city (e.g. urban planning and smart city)
  • Provision of building data and road network data
  • Data management and database programming
  • Creation of visualizations
