The Jewish Institute for National Security of America (JINSA), a non-profit, non-partisan policy organization focused on strengthening U.S.

national security and the U.S.Israel security relationship, is seeking a Policy Analyst to support the policy team with research and writing on critical foreign and defense policy issues related to the Middle East.

The position would require an ability to work from JINSA's office in Washington, D.C.


Roles and Responsibilities


The Policy Analyst's primary duties will consist of independent and collaborative research and writing to support JINSA's production of regular memos, op-eds, and reports.

The position will involve working as part of a team with other JINSA Policy Analysts and under the supervision of senior policy team members.

It also provides the opportunity to interact and co-author written products with members of JINSA's large network of affiliate contributors, which includes retired, senior American military officers.

Research will include a variety of topics relevant to JINSA's focus on the Middle East.

The Policy Analyst should also be willing to research topics including the U.S.Israel security relationship, Iran policy, and the Abraham Accords as well as other areas relevant to JINSA's work as needed, including the Eastern Mediterranean.


This position will require the Policy Analyst to research complex and evolving topics, write clearly, work hard, learn quickly on the job to handle a wide range of tasks, and willingly receive and incorporate feedback on their work product.

The Policy Analyst must possess strong research and writing skills to contribute substantively to all projects for the policymaking community.

The position also requires well-developed interpersonal skills, both to function in a tight-knit office environment and to interact and engage directly with top policymakers and other leaders in the national security field.

This is an entry-level position.


Qualifications

  • At least an undergraduate degree in a relevant field;
  • Superb research, analytical, and writing skills;
  • Exceptional qualitative research skills required. Quantitative skills a plus;
  • Background in U.S. national security and defense issues. Proficiency in Middle East issues, and languages skills a plus;
  • Proven ability to multitask on a wide range of projects;
  • Excellent interpersonal communication abilities;
  • This is an entrylevel position that requires 02 years of experience.
