- A Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) Technician is a specialized healthcare professional who assists cardiologists and other medical staff during procedures in the cath lab .
- The Cath Lab Technician plays a crucial role in the cardiovascular team by providing technical support during various cardiac procedures.
- The technician assists in the preparation, operation, and maintenance of specialized equipment used in the catheterization laboratory.
- This role requires a keen attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical environment.
- Prepare the catheterization laboratory for procedures by ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and in working order.
- Assist in the setup of cardiac monitoring devices, imaging equipment, and other specialized instrumentation.
- Ensure the sterile field is properly maintained throughout procedures.
- Ability to push a 400+ pound Ultrasound machine to the LDR Suites or Obstetrical High-Risk Unit for an emergency scan.
- Requires frequent standing, stretching, and bending to reach necessary supplies.
- Experience with routine obstetrical ultrasound imaging and machinery, and gynecological ultrasound imaging and pathology.
- Ability to grasp necessary transducers to use for sonography. Digital dexterity to enter data on Ultrasound keyboard is necessary.
- Carrying and lifting supplies to restock exam rooms and storing transducers at the end of shift is necessary.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting and ability to handle stressful situations with empathy and professionalism a must.
- Required: EPIC experience.
- Knowledge of coronary and peripheral vascular anatomy and physiology and medical terminology.
- Preferred:1 year of experience in Cardiac Catheterizations or Interventional Radiology.
- BLS – AHA
- ACLS - AHA
- ARRT
- Covid Card
- State of Nevada license for Radiography.
- ARRT specialty certification in cardiac interventional and/or vascular interventional radiography required within 18 months of hire.
