As part of our ongoing expansion and innovation efforts, we are seeking a talented Engineer (Electrical, Software, Electro-Mechanical, or Mechanical) with expertise in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) design to join our dynamic and fast-growing team.
Job Description:
As an Engineer specializing in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) design, you will play a pivotal role in the development, and implementation of cutting-edge energy storage solutions.
You will leverage your expertise to integrate battery cells developed by Zelos into BESS products, contributing to the company's mission of sustainable energy innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Design and develop battery energy storage systems, including system architecture, component selection, and integration with renewable energy sources and electrical grids.
Participate in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling activities, ensuring timely delivery of BESS projects within scope and budget constraints.
3.
Perform detailed engineering analysis and simulations to optimize BESS performance, efficiency, and reliability.
4.
Collaborate with external vendors to ensure seamless integration of BESS into overall energy systems.
5.
Conduct testing and validation of battery/module prototypes, BESS components and systems, including the management of performance, safety, compliance, and certification tests.
Contribute to the documentation of design specifications, technical reports, and regulatory compliance documentation.
7.
Evaluate in house technologies and industry trends around and within BESS to inform strategic decision-making and product development roadmap.
8.
Provide technical expertise and support to internal teams and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, and regulatory agencies.
9.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of BESS solutions.
Qualifications:
1.
Proven experience and abilities in the design, manufacturing, deployment, and servicing of battery energy storage systems (BESS).
2.
Strong understanding of electrical power systems, battery control systems, and all systems surrounding BESS.
3.
Hands-on experience with BESS testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting preferred.
4.
Good overall BESS industry relationships with components/technology vendors, system integrators, and installers.
5.
Understanding of best practices in renewable energy technologies, and grid integration principles.
6.
Working familiarity with industry standards and regulations governing BESS, such as IEEE, NEC, UL, and ISO.
7.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
8.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
9.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
