Has general responsibility for receiving, put away, picking, packing, shipping within warehouse. Verifies the inventory quantity and assists in inventory level maintenance. Maintains complete paperwork. Must have ability to operate warehouse equipment in a safe manner including certification as necessary. This role reports to the warehouse supervisor.
Responsibilities:
Receive trucks and sign paperwork upon receipt
Unload packages from incoming trucks
Inspect contents for defects and damage
Verify packages according to purchase order and record amount received
Check in merchandise, affix labels and allocate them to their designated storage location
Stack merchandise in designated storage location
Pick materials from storage location and package for shipment
Organize warehouse space and keep clean daily
Contribute ideas on ways to improve or optimize warehousing procedures
Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control
Follow all safety codes and procedures
Perform facilities maintenance
Carry out tasks as assigned by warehouse supervisor / manager
Requirements (education, experience, travel, physical, work environment):
Proven warehouse experience
Experience in operating forklifts
Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data
Solid understanding of health and safety regulations
Basic math and recording abilities
Excellent organizational skills
Great communication and interpersonal abilities
The qualified candidate will possess a High School Diploma or GED
Able to unload and load shipments utilizing all methods of equipment.
This position requires the employee to operate in a both a warehouse and office environment where temperature may fluctuate from cold to hot. The employee in this position must be able to lift up to 50+ lbs. regularly without assistance or utilizing equipment or team lifting techniques. The employee operates in both work and office settings where work to be performed can be in various standing, sitting, stooping, bending positions. The work environment will have various material handling equipment and machinery in place. Awareness of surroundings is required including being able to recognize and react to signals, signage and audible indicators that will require visual and auditory recognition in order to react safely and effectively.
