Dispatch Supervisor


Start Date: 5/21


SHIFT:
Wednesday-Sunday 9pm-5am

  • Full-Time.
  • Location: River West
  • Pay Rate: $1820 Hourly (Increase after performance review following probationary period)

ABOUT THE JOB:

A Dispatcher answers and response to any emergency or non-emergency calls to provide assistance or important information.

Their main duties include logging each call, providing answers to questions by retrieving data from the necessary departments, and supervising the field units' routes to prioritize and organize their schedules.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Scheduling and dispatching officers, vehicles, or equipment to appropriate locations according to predetermined schedules, customer requests, or immediate needs
  • Relaying information such as work orders or other messages to and from officers, supervisors, or emergency personnel
  • Using telephones, twoway radios, or text messages to contact officers or emergency personnel
  • Speaking with supervisors or customers to resolve problems, requests for services, or equipment
  • Being in charge of communications within companyassigned territories
  • Dispatch to Police and Fire departments
  • Handle highvolume of inbound and outbound calls
  • Monitor systems using our software
  • Help our customers, and team members with managing their incidents
  • Keep a professional demeanor and follow established dispatch protocols and procedures
  • Maintain your outbound and inbound calls with a high degree of urgency and accuracy
  • Video event monitoring
  • Troubleshoot incoming calls from both our clientele base, as well as officers
  • Oversee daily operation, and effectively communicate pertinent information to the team accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of what your shift duties for the day entail, as at the end of each shift, you will need to distribute a report to team members and management
  • Advise management of any major operational irregularities that arise throughout the day
  • Any additional company expectations, as needed

Skills, Qualifications, and Requirements:


  • High School Diploma, or equivalent
  • PERC card
  • Fingerprint background check required by Illinois Dept. of Professional Financial Regulation
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with others under any condition
  • Excellent clerical and organizational skills to keep track of schedules, routes, and personnel
  • Knowledge of computers for scheduling and other dispatching duties
  • Ability to multitask with different, and sometimes conflicting, events happening at the same time
  • Ability to work under stress and remain calm and to calm other people during rapidly changing circumstances
  • Ability to relay information in a fastpaced environment
  • Must exhibit excellent customer service skills and phone etiquette
  • Are able to fully maintain professional demeanor in stressful operational
  • Are able to take instructions and followthrough independently
  • Knowledgeable in Chicago area navigation
