- Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a resource, preceptor, and mentor.
- Demonstrates an ability to provide a departmental charge role by triaging workflow, assigning rooms and staffing for daily cases.
- Possesses an advanced knowledge of sterile techniques and assists/supports Interventional Radiologists during procedures.
- Notifies the manager of potential safety hazards and follows through on all corrective decisions. Immediately recognizes adverse clinical situations and helps other personnel to do so.
- Certification
- Basic Life Support Instructor; American Board of Radiology
- Diagnostic Medical Physics BLS, ARRT, Vascular Interventional (VI) or Cardiovascular (CV).BLS; ARRT registry in Vascular Interventional (VI), Cardiovascular (CV) or Cardiovascular Interventional (CI) required .BLS; ARRT registry in Vascular Interventional (VI), Cardiovascular (CV) or Cardiovascular Interventional (CI) required. Must have completed the Inova ACHIEVE program for IR Tech 4.BLS; ARRT registry in Vascular Interventional (VI), Cardiovascular (CV) or Cardiovascular Interventional (CI) required. Must have completed the Inova ADVANCE program for IR Tech 4.
- Licensure
- Tradesman Commonwealth of Virginia Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Radiologic Technologist is required only if the position is located in a freestanding center not affiliated with an Inova Health System hospital.
- Experience Five years of work experience as a Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology Technologist.
- Education
- Vocational / Technical Radiologic Technology Graduate of an accredited school of Radiography; Associate or higher degree preferred
