- Ensure clinical service growth plans and strategies align with enterprise goals.
- Develop goals and objectives for the Ambulatory Practice Environment based on interpretation of institutional policy and goals.
- Establish and articulate a philosophy of nursing consistent with the educational, research, and patient care.
- Review, establish, and revise policies, procedures, and standards related to all aspects of nursing practice. Interpret policies and objectives to nursing staff, patient, and community groups.
- Develop budget, policies, and strategies that optimize the outcomes of clinical programs by improving efficiency, diversity, and effectiveness in care delivery process.
- Ensure the most effective operations of the department through program development, process improvement and coordination/integration of processes with other departments.
- Assure successful implementation of clinical programs through systems and process design by integrating the design of the clinical programs with the needs of the community and other target populations.

- Nursing degree required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), or Doctorate in Nursing.

Vanderbilt Health - Executive Search Team is conducting a national search for a Senior Director Nursing, Children's Ambulatory for Monroe Carell Jr.
Monroe Carell is rapidly growing, along with the Nashville, Tennessee market. Monroe Carell is a large pediatric hospital on the Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) campus.
The Children's Enterprise network, within the VUMC network, serves a population well beyond the Nashville market through a robust and growing ambulatory network serving middle Tennessee and expanding.
Monroe Carell Children's has a rich history of nursing excellence and has received its fourth consecutive Magnet designation.The Senior Director supports the practice of nursing in the ambulatory practice environment at Monroe Carell Children's Hospital (MC).
They will work as a partner to the Ambulatory Operations team to set strategic goals and oversee the practice of nursing in the ambulatory space.
This role will provide leadership and nursing oversite to assigned operational departments or executive nursing system-wide programs. Participates in the development of operational and strategic functions and processes to achieve clinical and administrative goals. The individual should exhibit strong communication and relationship building, knowledge of the healthcare environment, leadership, professionalism, and business acumen..
