Minimum Qualifications


Current Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Medical Assistance Specialist 3; OR current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title eligible to transfer under Section 52.6 or Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law to a Medical Assistance Specialist 3.


Preferred Qualifications:
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Experience with eMedNY.
Prior personnel experience.


Duties Description


The incumbent will be a member of the bureau's management team and will supervise senior bureau staff while reporting to the bureau director.

The incumbent will oversee either the audit/program integrity/data functions or the systems/portal functions and related staff. This position will also assist the Bureau Director with duties related to the oversight of the bureau's personnel function.

The incumbent may also represent the bureau as a stakeholder in various projects; assist with the development and implementation of policies related to the Medicaid program; review, analyze and assure guidelines associated with the Medicaid program are followed; serve as a liaison for the bureau in meetings with internal and external stakeholders and cross functional teams; and ensure work performed by the bureau meets all state and federal requirements.

For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position.

Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
