Job Description:

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Under the supervision of the Paint Shop Supervisor, assists workers engaged in painting of signs and sign components, including preparing signs for painting and crating finished signs for shipping to the customer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepares and may assist in painting new signs, existing signs, sign cabinets, sign lettering per specifications
Clean and maintain work area to provide a safe and organized work environment.
Work safely to prevent on the job injuries following all safety regulations.
Repairs and fixes signs damaged in shipping
Crates finished signs
Follows all safety guidelines and regulations

MARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cleans and maintains equipment
Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned

NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS:

Interacts with painters
Interacts with other departments

TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS:

A High School Diploma or GED and one or more years of relevant experience involving demonstrated abilities in painting; or any combination of training, education and experience which provides the following knowledge, abilities, and skills.

Ability to work in an organized manner to coordinate multiple work activities to meet deadlines
Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in person and on phone
Ability to operate computer, telephone, and other office equipment
Solid basic math skills
Strong work ethic with an enthusiastic, positive attitude, and the highest level of integrity
Good communication skills in order to receive and follow instructions and communicate to others necessary information pertaining to the production of signs
Maintain regular and timely attendance
