BioMarin's Technical Operations group is responsible for creating our drugs for use in clinical trials and for scaling production of those drugs for the commercial market.
These engineers, technicians, scientists and support staff build and maintain BioMarin's cutting-edge manufacturing processes and sites, provide quality assurance and quality control to ensure we meet regulatory standards, and procure the needed goods and services to support manufacturing and coordinating the worldwide movement of our drugs to patients.
Come join our team and make a meaningful impact on patients' lives.The Project Scheduler will support the Capital Project Delivery Office (CPDO) and Capital Projects Management team.
The candidate will be involved in supporting resource management, project tracking/reporting, project delivery, quality control, information management, risk/issue tracking, and knowledge management.
This position reports to the Manager of Project ControlsResponsibilities
Support both department and projects with meeting management tasks such as scheduling meetings, establishing and informing attendees and speakers, supporting presentation development.
Assist with preparation and verify accuracy of costs and schedule variance analysis and estimate-at-complete forecast development, as well as collection, preparation and development of estimate, cost, schedule, and earned value data.
Prepare and review basic monthly and ad hoc reports for multiple projects; pull information from various sources into presentations or other communications.
Assigns resources (cost, labor or material) to activities and develops cash flow reports and resource histograms.Assist with development of project milestone tracking, and identify, track and report on critical schedule activities.
Perform tasks relating to establishing and implementing status and techniques for updating and monitoring schedule data needed for effective schedule control in Oracle Primavera P6.
Align financial data with project activities, load actual costs, and prepare monthly accruals using financial systems.Identifies major milestones, critical approvals and long lead procurement items.
Determines reasonable schedule logic and constraints based on discussion with task owners and/or teams.
Develops realistic activity durations based on production rates and available manpower based on discussion with task owners and/or teams.
Evaluates critical and near critical path activity sequences identifies schedule changes and trends.
Assesses actual progress based on site inspections.
Suggests corrective actions and/or develop recovery plans when delays are anticipated or occur.
Reviews architect and contractor prepared schedules.
Assists in the preparation of the Project Completion (Closeout) Report and prepares post construction as built schedules and lessons learned reports.
Administers sub-contracts and Purchase orders, change orders, mobilization and pre-authorization logs.Initiate requisitions for both purchase orders and contracts through both iProcurement and SpringCM. Develop self-authoring change orders, and track progress of these documents through completion. Coordinate with PO requestors priorities and communicate this to both BMRN legal and procurement departments.
Collaborate with other members of the CPDO team to provide support to Portfolio Managers, Project Managers, Team Leads and Owner Rep Contractors.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Construction, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field of study and at least 6 years of relevant experience
Must have strong understanding of CPM (Critical Path Method) concepts and calculations
Strong understanding of earned value concepts, calculations, and rules of credit
Proficiency in Primavera scheduling products (P6) and report preparation skills
Basic knowledge of project controls functions, including cost control and cost analysis, and planning and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, and analysis.
Strong organizational and communication skills requiredRelated experience may be considered in lieu of required education
Team player with the ability to work collaboratively and interact with employees at all levels
Ability to effectively and clearly communicate Portfolio and Project financial related information
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and proficiency with Microsoft Office Software, Visio, Power Point, Word, ...
Experience with Oracle Project Portfolio Management (OPPM) software is a plus
Ability to create, update metric KPI's
Must be able to work in a flexible, dynamic, and fast-paced environment
Good understanding of a project lifecycle and the different measures of financial performance.
Excellent communications skills including a very good level of English both written and verbal.
Time management – able to prioritize, plan and achieve objectives within set timescales.
Highly analytical, able to manipulate and interpret complex data from multiple sources.
Has relevant industry experience in Construction, Engineering or a relevant Consultancy.
