    Sr. Energy Storage SCADA Engineer - Renewables
    Location: FULL-TIME REMOTE (Anywhere in the USA)

    This is an opportunity to join a leading renewable energy venture with strong private equity backing. They are focused on the development, execution, and operations of utility-scale energy storage projects, boasting over 9GW of projects in a short time.

    This business critical role involves driving the Asset Management strategy for Instrumentation, SCADA, and Automated Control Systems. The role includes leading the development of control system architecture for utility-scale renewable energy projects involving battery storage technology and integration with proprietary data-driven decision-making technology. SCADA COMMISSIONING EXPERIENCE is a must with willingness to travel up to 50%.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Sr. Renewables SCADA Engineer - Acts as an SME for all Instrumentation, SCADA, and Automated Control Systems implementation, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of energy storage initiatives
    • Sr. Renewables SCADA Engineer - Takes ownership of Control systems architecture, integrations, algorithms, network models, and design based on ISO/RTO requirements
    • Sr. Renewables SCADA Engineer - Leads electrical control systems modeling or programming using Python, MATLAB/Simulink, C, C++, or C#
    • Sr. Renewables SCADA Engineer - Leads SCADA and substation automation system integration including HMI, PPI, and RTU programming
    • Sr. Renewables SCADA Engineer - Develops and implements SCADA operating procedures meeting compliance standards
    • Sr. Renewables SCADA Engineer - Provides technical assessments of grid-tied inverter solutions
    • Sr. Renewables SCADA Engineer - Evaluates battery storage models, management systems, inverters, P&C layouts, and relay logic for optimization
    • Sr. Renewables SCADA Engineer - Provides interconnection controls system infrastructure requirements
    • Sr. Renewables SCADA Engineer - Leads correspondence with Renewable Developers, Regulatory bodies, ISOs, and internal partners
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline with focus on Power Control Architecture, SCADA, IC&E, or Automation Systems
    • SCADA Commissioning, site-reviews, and project execution experience
    • Advanced expertise in electrical control systems modeling or programming using Python, MATLAB/Simulink, C, C++, or C#
    • Hands-on experience with inverter system controls, battery storage, or renewable energy/electric utility system integration protocols including HMI, PPI, and RTU programming
    • Ability to provide critical input on technical assessments of grid-tied inverter solutions
    • Proficient in writing/defining SCADA / EMS operational scopes and technical requirements
    • Background in ISO/RTO and transmission interconnection stakeholder management
    • Understanding of SCADA, Dispatcher Power Flow, Operator Training Simulator, User Interface, Automatic Generation Control, and Data Alarm Processing
