Description

The Manager, Billing & Receivables (BAR) will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the BAR team, offering guidance, managing project timelines, and ensuring the optimal allocation of resources, while also serving as a liaison between the team and ITS leadership.

They will also oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Billing & Receivables products and services that support the university's strategic objectives and meet the evolving needs of UCLA's students, faculty, and staff (e.g., tuition payment systems).

This leader will lead the prioritization of delivery plans, oversee the development of acceptance criteria as it relates to organizational goals, and facilitate continuous improvement to support growth and operational effectiveness.

Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications

  • Five years Experience working in one or more of the following fields: information technology, computer science, management, higher education, or a related field. (required)
  • Two years Experience leading teams in a management or leadership role, particularly in a fastpaced, serviceoriented environment, or a related field. (required)
  • Significant experience leading the endtoend product development lifecycle, from concept to launch and ongoing refinement. (required)
  • Significant experience managing billing and receivables products or similar in a fastpaced, dynamic environment. (required)
  • Handson experience in the development and management of products throughout the entire lifecycle. (required)
  • Experience aligning IT strategies with the overall goals and mission of the university. (required)
  • Demonstrated experience presenting complex technical information to audiences of technical and nontechnical stakeholders. (required)
  • Extensive experience solving technical and nontechnical problems; able to delegate solutioning when appropriate to the proper resources. (required)
  • Demonstrated experience providing inclusive leadership of others, cultivating an inclusive environment that values equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging. (required)
  • Has demonstrated experience leading in an everchanging, fastpaced environment. (required)
  • Experience in complex higher education environments, serving academic and administrative functions of a large public university. (preferred)
  • Seven or more years Experience working in one or more of the following fields: information technology, computer science, management, higher education. (preferred)
  • Five or more years Experience leading teams in a management or leadership role, particularly in a fastpaced, serviceoriented environment. (preferred)
  • Has an understanding of how programs relate to other business strategies and initiatives. Strong understanding of the academic environment, including an understanding of billing and receivables needs and workflows. (required)
  • Customerfocused approach to product design and development, with a deep understanding of user needs and behavior. (required)
  • Proven ability to coordinate product releases, updates, and retirements in collaboration with relevant stakeholders. (required)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans for the enhancement and expansion of faculty information products. (required)
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills and is able to communicate work assignments to mediumsized teams. (required)
  • Advanced project management skills with demonstrated experience delegating responsibility, tracking project progress, supervising others, and advising teams on competing priorities. (required)
  • Able to lead data gathering efforts seeking information from multiple and diverse sources. Experience operating as a point of escalation. (required)
  • Inspires creativity in others and advises teams on industryleading practices, such as the incorporation of new technologies or processes. (required)
  • Demonstrated leadership / management skills, including abilities in persuasion, negotiation, change management, and mentorship. (required)

Special Conditions for Employment

  • This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that includes regular visits to campus as needed (for those who work remotely, travel/lodging expenses are not eligible for reimbursement).


The anticipated pay range for this position is $139,099 - $160,127, annually; salary is dependent upon the skills and experience of the selected finalist.
