Job Description and Duties
In accordance with CCR 249.3, this job control may be used to fill subsequent vacancies.
Under the direction of the Senior Oil and Gas Engineer (Supervisor) for the WellSTAR Unit, the position will be responsible for the technical review and assessment of the impact of WellSTAR design changes. The incumbent will function as the Associate Oil and Gas Engineer for the Well Statewide Tracking and Reporting (WellSTAR) project for the California Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM). The incumbent will perform assignments requiring a high degree of knowledge and skill in hydrocarbon technology, complex engineering work, extensive communication, data management, and presentation.
Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If it is determined an applicant does not meet Minimum Qualifications, the applicant will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position. Applicants who have been withheld may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board.
This position is contingent on budget approval.
Working Conditions
This position is located in Sacramento County and is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule, with up to two days in office. Employees must reside in California and be able to satisfactorily perform their essential work functions independently and remotely. The hybrid telework schedule will allow for up to three days of remote work per week depending on department needs.
Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview but must show proof of residence in California prior to being eligible for appointment.
