- Maintains a high level of confidentiality when addressing patients.
- Answers billing and payment related questions, ensuring that calls are handled in a timely and professional manner.
- Setting up patient payment plans within established guidelines.
- Performs daily assigned tasks on external collection agency portal.
- Effectively communicate with the interdepartmental teams within the AR Department (AR Manager, Surgery, Denial and Ancillary PARs) to resolve patient and/or insurance issues.
- Update patient accounts, to include insurance corrections.
- Work patient refunds.
- Minimum of two years' experience working in all areas of collections in a physician practice.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD 10 and CPT codes.
- Detail oriented and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Athena experience is preferred
