- Responsible for conducting moderately complex cost audits and preparing and analyzing cost reports.
- Maintain complex ledgers, reconcile and analyze specific cost account ledgers and prepares difficult journal entries.
- Prepare a variety of reports to maintain and analyze the cost accounting system.
- Ensure that costs are allocated properly.
- Research and gather historical cost data to prepare reports and analysis on such activities as material purchase, labor, equipment, depreciation, repairs, operating expenses, overhead and the like.
- Prepare a variety of reports to analyze unit costs and project future expenses.
- Assist in the development and installation of new and revised cost accounting systems, procedures and controls.
- Analyze various operating costs to determine variances and causes.
- Review the preparation of various records and reports compiled by lower-level accounting personnel.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Requires at least 1-year related experience.
- Requires knowledge of cost control systems and related cost accounting functions and includes the preparation of strategic recommendations to management.
- Requires knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices.
- Must have excellent written and verbal skills.

As the Cost Accountant, you will perform cost accounting tasks of a difficult nature requiring professional experience, knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
