Job Tasks:
- Installs new track, maintains existing track and track components and replaces/repairs track switches with specific components.
- Sprays switches, angle bars and joints with oil for lubrication.
- Cuts rails to specific lengths; adjust, lift and roll rails.
- Drills holes through rails for insertion of bolts; tighten or loosen bolts at joints that hold the ends of rails together.
- Sorts track materials for loading and unloading.
- Cuts brush and vegetation around tracks.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school graduate/GED.
- Valid Drivers' License.
- 18 years of age or older.
Preferred Experience:
- Outside work experience (construction, heavy equipment operation, farming, landscaping, etc.)
- Welding experience preferred.
Basic Competencies:

Effective verbal communication in English

- Must have the ability to comprehend written and oral instructions.
- Basic math skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work hours may be long and may include being on call and/or working nights, weekends and/or holidays.
- Position requires wearing Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
- Works 90% outdoors in various temperatures and conditions.
- Walking on elevated surfaces, slopes, and uneven surfaces including stone ballast.
- Exposure to high noise level and moving rail and other heavy equipment.
- May be exposed to dust, fumes, gases, and various lubricants, insects, snakes, etc.
Pay:
$19.00 per hour

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift

Experience:
- outside work: 1 year (required)
- Heavy equipment operation: 1 year (preferred)
- CDL Driving: 1 year (preferred)
