    Description


    The Senior API Product Manager is a key role in our company's product development team, responsible for guiding the development, strategy, and success of API product lines.

    This role requires a combination of business acumen, technical understanding, and strong leadership to drive the product's lifecycle from concept to market launch and beyond.


    Major Responsibilities:
    Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Lightcast API product(s), technology, data set and clients for assigned areas. Serve as an expert in how our technology and data works and can be used.

    Gain a deep understanding of customer experience via user research and product feedback, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth.

    Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners.
    Translate product strategy into a series of roadmap themes to achieve product growth and retention targets.
    Given a client/user/business problem, define multiple solution concepts in collaboration with business stakeholders and engineering. Facilitate the validation process to evaluate how well solution concepts address the original problem.
    Clearly define features (value prop, scope, success criteria) and effectively communicate requirements to partners in engineering, data, and design.
    Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact.
    Drive product launches including working with the executives, and other product management team members as well as coordinating cross-functional teams, developing go-to-market strategies, and ensuring effective communication and training

    Evaluate promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed.

    Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding.
    Evaluate the success of product enhancements and features post-release. Demonstrate meaningful impact to customers and our business.

    Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations, security standards, and industry certifications in the design and implementation of our API solutions.

    Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track product performance, monitor usage patterns, and evaluate customer satisfaction.
    Champion the developer experience by designing intuitive APIs, documentation, SDKs, and developer tools that streamline integration and adoption.

    Requirements:
    Proven track record of 7+ years in product management roles, with a focus on API products and platforms within data-as-a-service (DaaS) or software-as-a-service (SaaS) companies
    Deep understanding of API technologies, RESTful architecture, web services, and API design principles.
    Deep understanding of API design principles, standards, and best practices to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of API solutions.
    Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. Advanced education is desirable.
    Previous experience in product management, preferably in a similar industry.
    Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle.
    Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies.
    Strong problem solving skills and willingness to roll up one's sleeves to get the job done.
    Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization.
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    Comfortable interacting with customers through the sales, implementation and on-going relationship phases
