Mission Inn Hotel & Spa is currently seeking an experienced Security Agent.


The Security Agent will perform his or her duties and follow protocols to ensure the safety and security of guests, employees, the property as well as the property's assets.

Agents will be alert, proactive, and dependable. They will always conduct themselves with professionalism and will contribute to a respectful work environment.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Perform daily inspection and ensure compliance of hotel security and safety requirements and procedures to protect hotel property, employees and guests against theft, crime, threats, and safety hazards.
  • Patrolling and inspecting with specified equipment the assigned areas to include all public areas of the property including meeting rooms, entrances and outside building and grounds; monitoring surveillance cameras and checking areas for unauthorized persons or vehicles and coordinating towing of vehicles, unlocked doors and fire and safety hazards and document all actions.
  • Maintaining the Security procedures and audit/department logs that may include lost and found, storing guests' valuable, key control, emergency procedures, and health and safety hazard procedures for all employees and guests.
  • Conduct investigations related to loss and safety incidents involving guests, employees and/or hotel loss and safety exposure. Such investigations may include theft or lost items, noise complaints, assault complaints, food poisoning complaints, intoxication incidents, other guest complaints and safety hazard accidents and incidents.
  • Comply with state and government regulations and hotel procedures to prevent/minimize potential loss from theft and other safety risk or potential for litigation against the hotel.
  • Ensuring all guest room doors are secured and assist guest with room access and moving/removing guest possessions or inventory if required.
  • Assist in training/educating employees on current safety and security issues to ensure compliance with all company loss prevention policies and current security, and safety regulations.
  • Inform management of hazardous situations, emergencies, or threats to the security of guests, employees, or hotel assets.
  • Coordinate with facilities department to schedule preventative maintenance and repairs to security equipment or hotel property as needed and ensure that equipment is prepared and operational for the following day's work.
  • Records pertinent incident reports or information to police and fire agencies involving investigations. May also provide similar information to Human Resources, insurance agencies and outside attorneys to assist in case evaluation settlement or defense involving lawsuits against the Company.
  • If properly trained, in an emergency, the security agent may administer CPR on guest or staff member until such time that emergency services have arrived.
  • In cases where emergency services are called, the security agent must be able to properly communicate specified information to EMS/medical personnel as required, including required documentation in accordance with Company and hotel policies and procedures.
  • Security personnel may alternate between maintaining a presence at the security checkpoint/employee entrance, and/or maintain a presence throughout the hotel property.
  • Escorting staff and guest to car or parking structure, if requested.
  • Inspecting purses, packages or employee bags if designated by management.
  • May be required to inspect or receive incoming deliveries.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
  • Must be willing and able to comply with health & safety protocols related to Covid19, as prescribed by state and federal ordinances, or company policy.
  • Perform contactless temperature checks on incoming employees.
  • Receive incoming calls for daily callouts. Document, and communicate to management as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:


  • Minimum of High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have 2 years of security and safety experience.
  • Must speak fluent English. Bilingual in other languages is helpful.
  • Must have Hospitality experience.
  • Guard Cards required at time of hire.

This job requires ability to perform the following:

  • Constantly standing and moving throughout the facility, including stairs, both indoor and outdoor.
  • Carrying, lifting, pushing and/or pulling items weighing up to pounds
  • Frequently bending, stooping, kneeling
  • Frequent manual dexterity, such as use of a keyboard, or access keys.
  • Ability to hear and actively listen and understand.
  • Ability to communicate with clarity both verbally and in written communication.

Other:


  • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests and employees
  • Certification in safety and training may be required. Certified CPR, First Aid instruct
