The Role

As the Trading Product Area Leader, you blend deep expertise of order management, execution management and post trade execution capabilities with a dedication to delivery excellence and customer value. This product area is accountable for Digital Asset Trading capabilities used by Fidelity Digital Assets platform consumers, Institutional clients and the Execution Services team. You will define and evolve the vision for electronic trading capabilities and ensure continued alignment and prioritization of work with other key initiatives through effective planning. In an agile structure, you will partner with other leaders to establish product area level strategic priorities based on an understanding of product strategy and customer needs that enables execution of these priorities by the cross-functional squads aligned to your product area. You will support these squads as they continuously improve planning, execution and implementation practices, learning from failures while celebrating success, towards improving the value that can be delivered by:

• Proactively partnering with delivery leaders, partners and stakeholders to:

  • understand the needs of customers and other partners

  • define, evolve and communicate strategic priorities and progress

  • plan, develop and maintain planning roadmaps that enable execution of the domain and broader business strategy

  • define & measure performance through objectives and KPI's to define and deliver agreed upon business, financial, technology, and people results

  • evaluate and resolve capacity needs aligned with strategic priorities, making trade-offs where necessary

  • ensure squad optimization to improve value delivery

  • execute on roadmap by regularly evaluating progress, removing impediments, calling out issues and communicating status

• Enabling an agile and frictionless organization by continuously demonstrating agile leadership behaviors and values

• Supporting and encouraging squad leaders to build appropriate learning opportunities to develop skills

• Assessing industry and customer trends and sharing insights, knowledge, and developments across product areas and squads

• Compelling enterprise-wide alignment through collaboration, knowledge sharing and breaking down silos to achieve the best results for Fidelity

• Working with Chapter Area and other Product Area Leaders to incorporate technical strategic items into roadmaps for prioritization that enables consistent use of platforms and APIs, minimizes redundancy and manage IT, and to improve agile and product management maturity

• Developing your own knowledge and bring the latest thinking to your role to empower others with that knowledge.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

• 10+ years of Electronic Trading experience

• 7+ years of product management experience leading teams in execution management with subject matter expertise in at least 2 of the following areas: Order Crossing, Order Routing, Algos, FIX Client Connectivity.

• Experience managing product owners, leading agile teams and engaging with senior internal and external customers and partners

• Financial services experience. Digital Asset experience a plus

• Jira and JiraAlign experience preferred

• You have senior level experience defining strategic roadmaps and leading the development of solutions and offerings aligned with and in support of the strategic direction of the business

• You are a committed and inspirational leader, capable of setting strategic direction and encouraging others to deliver results to achieve desired outcomes

• You have a continuous improvement approach and encourage and enable an agile way of working

• You have strong communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills with which you influence and engage across Fidelity and at all levels of the organization

• You take a data-focused approach to decision making, in day-to-day leadership and strategic tradeoff analyses

• You have or are committed to building a balance of technology and non-technology skills in order to fully appreciate the broad needs of our business and customers

Fidelity Digital Assets is a subsidiary of Fidelity Investments dedicated to building products and services that help institutional and retail investors access digital asset markets. Fidelity Investments began researching blockchain technology and digital assets solutions in 2014, where years of research and development have provided us with the deep expertise necessary to build the future of finance.

The Trading Product Area Leader role sits within the Product Delivery team that is central to enhancing and delivering platform capabilities that power our Digital Asset product offerings and business needs. Members of our team are highly dynamic, team-oriented and partner with each other, business partners and their squads. We lead by example, seek to continuously improve, deliver creative solutions that solve complex challenges and/or advance the business while always seeking to increase the value we provide through our product delivery practice.

The base salary range for this position is $140,000-285,000 USD per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
