Qualifications and Skills:


Degree in social services or related area preferred along with extensive work with survivors of domestic violence particularly within community systems advocacy.

Professional training or experience may be substituted for education at the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer.

Ability to establish professional rapport and effective relationships in various community systems such as criminal justice response and judicial systems.

Basic crisis management, and conflict resolution along with effective communication competency. Capacity building skills related to community stakeholders and resource providers. Commitment to feminist principles, trauma informed care and empowerment based service models.


Principal Job Duties

  • Actively build and enhance community partnerships with law enforcement, victim service providers, and the judicial system to create networks that identify and refer highrisk survivors.
  • Identify potential participants for the InVEST program by reviewing police reports and stakeholder referrals.
  • Contact survivors and offer crisis intervention, danger/lethality assessment, updated safety planning and external advocacy support. Provide information and applicable referrals that may address identified needs.
  • Facilitate support groups as designated, conduct intakes, and provide appropriate follow up as needed.
  • Complete victim compensation forms and legal referrals as needed and provide other information as needed.
  • Maintain timely and accurate statistical entries, records and service documentation.

Physical Requirements

  • Move about the Outreach, Residential properties and community partner sites
  • Drive Agency vehicles as assigned
  • Present information in community stakeholder meetings and program service meetings
  • Sit at a desk or work station for up to 6 hours
  • Operate (including basic troubleshooting) computers, printers and other agency technology

Pay:
$ $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
