Who we are:


Association to Benefit Children (ABC) is dedicated to bringing joy and warmth to disadvantaged children and their families through compassionate, sustainable, comprehensive and integrated services, designed to permanently break the cycles of abuse, neglect, sickness and homelessness.


ABC's Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health - Single Point of Access (I&ECMH-SPOA) initiative will be established to connect infants and young children in need of mental health treatment and other early childhood developmental services and supports with a team conducting screenings and evaluations, psychoeducation, and system navigation support.

I&ECMH-SPOA will provide seamless entry into appropriate services and programs, including but not limited to evidence-based treatments and interventions inclusive of clinic-based, school-based, and milieu enhancing approaches.

Children will also be screened for Early Intervention and Special Education eligibility.


Additionally, this program will offer a variety of opportunities for professional development, including trainings for child and family-serving professionals and specialized trainings for mental health clinicians.


Job Type:
Full-time (40 hours/week)


Salary:
$30,188 - $44,100


Start Date:
Before end of 2023


The Parent Advocate will:


  • Address, advocate for, and support a family's strengths and needs
  • Work alongside families to identify their goals
  • Use lived experiences and lived expertise to connect with parents facing their own challenges and successes
  • Represent the program and its commitment to early childhood mental health in NYC

What we are looking for:
(Skills, Education and Requirements)

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Lived or direct experience with the "helping systems" for children, such as mental health, education, juvenile justice, health, or child welfare
  • Experience working in a direct client
- or person-centered environment

  • Fluency in English and Spanish
  • Covid vaccination
