Job Summary:

Kids & Activities Coordinator is a full time position that will support the mission and vision of Integrative Touch by executing the goals that facilitate the Integrative Touch Community Healing Center and Compassion Camp.

The coordinator will work with the management team to design and implement developmentally appropriate activities for children and provide support with ongoing administrative duties.

They will be a model of ethical standards to all children, families, volunteers, interns, and staff and a frontline ambassador to represent Integrative Touch in the community.

The Coordinator will help recruit and manage volunteers and interns to facilitate activities in the Community Healing Center. High level organization and communication skills are necessary to motivate, inspire, and connect people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
Operations are Wednesday through Sunday.

Responsibilities:


  • Actively play with and supervise children ensuring they are within visual and auditory range at all times.
  • Teach and develop positive social behaviors in children that nurture peertopeer relationship building and support continuity of care. Support positive behavior.
  • Maintain a safe environment for children by following state licensing standards, keeping facilities hazardfree, ensuring equipment and play space are in working order, and being aware of potential threats to safety.
  • Create a warm and welcoming environment where children and families are greeted by name, and the cultures of the community are represented through learning and wellness activities, art, literature, movement, sounds, animals, etc.
  • Collaborate with staff to plan and execute developmentally appropriate activities and curriculum for the children.
  • Create and maintain lanyards for camp and childcare participants that include safety and social needs, keeping informed of individual child allergies/restrictions, medical needs, schedules, authorized pickups, etc.
  • Document all accidents, illnesses, incidents, and medications on the required forms and report suspected abuse/neglect as required by Arizona State Law.
  • Develop and maintain professional and positive relationships with families. Provide regular feedback about their child's experiences.
  • Attend community events, regular staff meetings, and training as required by Integrative Touch and state licensing to keep current on new developments.
  • Ensure the preparation and service of a meal/snack program that meets Integrative Touch and licensing requirements, and the cultural and nutritional needs of the children.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, & sanitary indoor/outdoor environment by performing daily cleaning duties.
  • Communicate frequently with volunteers and families to ensure they are satisfied and wellplaced. Coordinate teams of volunteers for largescale actions & keep records.
  • Perform administrative duties/front desk duties, such as answering the center phone, collecting payments, accepting and/or providing families with requested forms, etc.
  • Perform additional jobrelated duties, special projects, and tasks as assigned by direct supervisor or InTouch management.

Required Qualifications:


  • One or more years of experience working with children with mental, emotional, social, or medical needs at the appropriate age level.
  • Child care knowledge and experience preferred.
  • TB test, Covid vaccination, and cleared background check (prior to start date).
  • First Aid and child/adult CPR certification (within 60 days of hire).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and G Suite products.
  • Professional and psychological maturity, a servantleader disposition, and a commitment to the principles of high quality child care and education.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to speak and understand basic English. This position is very active and requires sitting, standing, walking, running, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.

The employee must be able to see and hear children at all times for the safety of children and co-workers, and must have the ability to use eyes, hands, and fingers accurately while operating a computer keyboard.
