Landry & Arcari is offering the opportunity for motivated individuals to join our Workroom Team as a Workroom Assistant. This job is based in the workroom of our warehouse in Salem.

A new hire will join a team of three co-workers to prepare all rugs that are being fabricated with Landry & Arcari's workroom.

There is an opportunity to learn and grow into our Carpet Installer Apprentice Program.

This is a terrific opportunity to work with an established team and we welcome applicants who are reliable, self-motivated, naturally outgoing, team-players, and have a high capacity to multitask with an attention to detail.

This position requires skill in hand-sewing and/or operating industrial sewing machines and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Primary Roles
Workroom Operations

• Facilitate the fabrication of rugs made out of carpeting
• Prepare rolls of carpet for fabrication
• Measure and cut padding for upcoming area rugs
• Assist with the sewing of bindings, borders and wrappings on the edges of rugs
• Review upcoming deliveries and installations and pull related inventory
• Steward inventory through maintaining a working inventory knowledge of customers' material
• Proactively facilitate complete building organization and maintenance, including all auxiliary areas (such as restrooms, storage rooms, kitchen, closet, parking lots, sidewalks and entrances).
• Proactively work toward the continuing development and efficiency of the workroom.
• Assist other workroom employees as is necessary to ensure an exceptional customer experience.

Warehouse Administration

Warehouse Projects

• Coordinate with the Warehouse Manager in the development and execution of projects designed to enhance the customer experience.

Required Skills:

• Experience with handsewing and/or industrial sewing machines
• Fast learner with some computer oriented skills.
• Strong worth ethic, reliablility, and good communication skills are all required
• Ability to lift and move 75 pounds.
• Self motivated and pro active.

Desired Skills (but not necessary)

• Experience within a carpet fabrication workroom
• Experience with têxtiles, fabrics, rugs, carpet, drapery, or other industry related materials.
