    Description
    Job Title: Outside Plant (OSP) Construction Inspector
    Location: Scranton, PA (Surrounding Areas)
    Travel: % travel between multiple sites, reimbursed by client.
    Pay Range: $
    Purpose of Position: Join the Project Services (PS) group of Corning Optical Communications' (COC) Engineering Services (ES) department as an experienced Outside Plant (OSP) Construction Inspector. Responsible for overseeing outside plant fiber optic projects in Pennsylvania.

    Responsibilities:
    • Coordinate and manage construction teams for fiber optic projects
    • Adhere to project schedules and communicate timelines to vendors
    • Review project drawings and specifications
    • Liaise with customers and address project-related requests
    • Conduct pre-construction site surveys and field measurements
    • Monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with guidelines
    • Attend project meetings and provide support for material inventory audits
    • Enforce safety rules and adhere to local construction procedures
    • Perform quality inspections and prepare inspection reports
    • Other related duties as assigned
    Education and Experience Requirements:
    • Approximately 3 years of underground and aerial utilities knowledge
    • Approximately 3 years of Fiber and Outside Plant knowledge
    • Valid US Driver's License, clean driving record (Class A CDL preferred)
    • High School diploma or equivalent required
    Required Skills:
    • Extensive knowledge of fiber optic installation methodologies
    • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
    • Proficiency in reading FTTX designs and fiber optic network architectures
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
    • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
    • Fluency in English
    Desired Skills:
    • Safety-focused with a strong work ethic
    • Familiarity with project management software like Sitetracker
    • Understanding of RUS Codes and *** FlexNAPTM products
    • Ability to troubleshoot using OTDR and other equipment
    • Customer-centric approach and adherence to safety procedures
    Travel: Local travel within an hour and a half of the project site (100%)

    Work Environment:
    • Variety of physical positions, including climbing, sitting, standing, walking, and driving
    • Exposure to all weather conditions
    • Requirement to wear protective safety equipment on project sites
    Other:
    • Must be local to Scranton, Pittston, Wilkes-Barre, PA area
    • Duration: 24-to-36-month position, dependent on construction completion.
