    Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, on site

    Team / Department Structure: Small procurement team of 2-3 others

    Company and position:

    We are a Texas based outdoor recreational products company that focuses on serving national retail customers to bring affordability and quality in our segment to the marketplace. As Purchasing Specialist, you will supervise purchasing procedures and lead daily tasks to help the department and company operate efficiently overall. A successful candidate would also provide insights into all standard operating procedures within the purchasing department as well as collaborate with other departments to seamlessly drive process in order to cash.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Assist in developing purchasing operating procedures to optimize process.
    • Continued improvement in the departmental processes to help drive cost savings.
    • Utilize ERP & MRP to produce purchase orders within a plan and schedule.
    • Monitor and analyze inventory turns, allocation, replenishment, and overstock.
    • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and negotiate purchasing contracts.
    • Build and maintain strong communications with sales, finance, and operations.
    • Performing additional projects within the company as needed.

    Ideal qualities of candidates:

    • Familiarity and working knowledge of Oracle NetSuite enterprise resource planning.
    • Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively.
    • Detail oriented with the ability to analyze data from various sources to efficiently make decisions.
    • Bachelor's degree in related field or 3+ years equivalent business experience.

    Requirements:

    • Prior experience purchasing commodities
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows-based programs.
    • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and inventory control process.
