DescriptionDescription of Job Duty:
Prepares applications for admission to the College of Graduate Studies. Process involves (1) ensures applicant meets qualifications as outlined in the Graduate Catalog (2) verifying institutions authenticity and degree validity, (3) preparing evaluations for departmental review, (4) completing evaluations for select departments, (5) finalize paperwork related to admission decision. Maintain the integrity of admissions to the university graduate degree programs. Enforce and direct the compliance of admission procedures as well as the requirements set forth by the TTU Graduate Studies Executive Committee and the Tennessee Tech Board of Trustees. Communicates to constituents matters related to admissions and other areas of job functionality, as well as assist/advise prospective students with admissions-related issues. Prepare correspondence with applicants, admitted students, departmental representatives, and others related to applying/admission requirements. Answers complex admissions related-questions, Perform administrative and managerial tasks related to Graduate Admissions. Effectively utilizes admissions software applications that include SLATE, Banner, BDM, and Argos. Responsible for managing the admissions applications for the college of engineering, nursing, business, and arts and sciences. Coordinates with the colleges and departments the processes for admissions review and new program implementation. Primary interface with TTU ITS staff and EM in regard to Banner, Ellucian Saas and graduate applications from the colleges assigned.

ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions:
Ensures that all applicant admissions applications are complete and meet the requirements as defined by the College of Graduate Studies, the University and the degree program. Upon review, Coordinator will communicate with the applicant in the event of missing requirements and resolve any complex issues. Coordinator will make admissions decisions as determined by the department and will notify applicant of decision. Coordinator will prepare application and documentation for departmental review. Will finalize that all requirements are met and will notify departments of review process. Coordinator will communicate department decision to applicant. Will provide official university communication of admissions decisions to applicant. Ensures that Banner is correctly coded for student enrollment including admissions decision, entry term, residency, and programming. Ensures university admissions application software is programmed correctly. Ensures that all documentation is correctly saved in BDM system by processors. Answers complex admissions questions.
Oversees the graduate admissions and application workflow for colleges within the university including engineering, nursing, business, and arts & sciences. Provides technical expertise in managing multiple software applications including, Banner, BDM, Argos, Ellucian Saas and other systems. Evaluates applications for admission, following university guidelines and requirements as needed. Works closely with departments to ensure all criteria is met for admissibility, provides departments with student applications and documentation, coordinates admissions decisions from department to applicant. Assists in resolving issues, both in systems, and in applicant issues. Coordinates change of major, change of admission term, and readmission applications. Trains other admissions personnel. Primary contact and collaborator for Banner and Ellucian Saas with EM admissions, TTU ITS, and Banner technical support. Supports colleges in their marketing efforts including CRM and Com Plan management.

Level P3, Grade 9.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in administration or related field with at least four years of related professional experience, associate's degree/two years of college from an accredited institution with at least six years of related professional experience, or a high school diploma/equivalent with at least eight years of related professional experience. Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills are needed to be successful in communicating with the various levels of faculty, staff and administrators.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in higher education. Customer Service Experience. Experience and training using Excel is also a must for this position. Experience in undergraduate or graduate admissions environments is preferred. Knowledge of Banner and Excel. Slate and Degree Works experience.
