SUMMARY:
Responsible for assisting supervisor/director in the effective and efficient operations of the department. Understands thoroughly the different methods of reimbursement and collections. Assist in training and monitoring of staff, and the daily functions within the department. Provides functional guidance to staff.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Friday 8:30AM 5:30PM

Qualifications:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree required. Knowledge of medical terminology required. Two years prior experience in medical billing/collections is preferred. Customer Service Skills, Collection experience (medical background preferred), Leadership skills, Excel, FFS, HMO & Medicare knowledge.

  • Meets regularly with supervisor / director to resolve billing, collection and or customer service issues which effect the department.
  • Acts as liaison between clinic, patients, and the Business Office to resolve issues that affect the department flow.
  • Have clear understanding of all fees for service, products and the billing limits of each.
  • Assist in on-going training of staff. Facilitates staff adherence to company policy and procedures.
  • Assist supervisor / director with implementation of action plans established for the purpose of achieving certain goals within the department.
  • Displays a professional attitude through performance, appearance and demeanor.
  • Request reports as assigned by supervisor / director.
  • Special projects as assigned by supervisor / director.
  • Provides guidance to Business Office staff as it pertains to Business Office Processes and protocols.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
