Job Summary:
The Student Service Analyst, Academic Advisor provides leadership and program coordination within the Academic Advising department. This position provides content knowledge expertise for a given Field of Interest and manages highly complex assigned student cohorts. This role is tasked with tracking student data and improving student success outcomes related to academic advising and retention.
This position engages in proactive case management by providing academic planning and support, monitoring academic progress to completion, and addressing any potential barriers to success.
Essential Functions:
45% - Provides professional-level end-to-end Academic Advising to an assigned caseload of students, to support student learning, persistence, and degree completion.
Implements Guided Pathways framework to program advisement by acting as the primary liaison and academic advising lead for a Field of Interest or specialized cohort, connecting students with academic and personal resources like tutoring, counseling, and career services.
Provides ongoing, proactive outreach and follow up to ensure student learning and progress outcomes are met. Tracks cohort data on student degree progress and completion and identifies at-risk students.
25% Manages overall Field of Interest cohort caseloads, including monitoring team performance and duties for quality assurance, training, and evaluation.
When serving as a department lead, directs the daily activities of non-exempt staff and provides work direction to the team to meet department deadlines and program management.
Problem-solves complex student concerns and provides technical assistance and troubleshooting to front-line staff if problem-escalation occurs. Tracks, analyzes, and evaluates program outcomes. Works collaboratively with academic divisions and other student affairs department leads as an academic advising content expert in the areas of career and educational planning, degree and curriculum requirements for graduationMore jobs from Maricopa Community Colleges
