    Description

    Position Overview

    The Actuarial Associate position involves supporting various actuarial functions such as pricing, reserving, financial reporting, and capital management. The main focus is to provide detailed analysis to standard tasks, implementing techniques to help Assurant achieve revenue and profitability targets. This role requires understanding project deliverables, effective time management, and active participation in career development programs within the Actuarial department.

    This role reports to a Supervisor or Actuarial Manager.


    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Review requirements and provide essential details for internal and external inquiries as directed.
    • Demonstrate understanding of data and systems, identifying inefficiencies and reconciling data to source systems.
    • Collect information, complete reports, and assist in responding to inquiries from various departments.
    • Identify system and data inefficiencies and assist in implementing solutions.
    • Effectively support requests in a timely manner and translate financial projections into business metrics.
    • Actively participate in self-development and actuarial exams for professional designation.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or related field with a minimum of 3 exams completed.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an actuarial role, pursuing an actuarial designation.
    • Intermediate level of understanding actuarial concepts, insurance products, and industry knowledge.
    • Proficiency in MS Office Applications and various data repository platforms.

    Skills and Experience

    • Advanced skills in completing tasks and projects with attention to detail and problem-solving acumen.
    • Effective conflict resolution and communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

    Pay Range:

    $62,000 - $103,400.00
