Specializing in carrot production, the company caters to both retail and food service operations and is renowned for its Bolthouse Farms brand, widely distributed in major retailers across the United States and Canada.

Bolthouse Fresh Foods is a subsidiary of Butterfly Equity, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm with a specialty in the food sector.

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE

  • The Safety Supervisor is responsible for the planning, designed, and implementation of organizational safety programs to ensure safe, healthy, and accidentfree environment

JOB DUTIES:


  • Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations
  • Plans and implements programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials
  • Prepares studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies
  • Inspects organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented
  • Provides information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions
  • Leads the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations
  • Compiles and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies
  • Oversees the administration of workers' compensation program, including working with the Senior Manager of WC and the insurance carrier to reduce employee lost time
  • Prepares and arranges safety exhibits and material for display, promotional work, industry conferences, and exhibitions
  • Represents the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs
  • Maintains safety files and records
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Maintain ongoing knowledge of Occupational Safety Health Act standards according to state and federal regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree and/or 5 plus years' experience in safety field and three years in supervisory role
  • Must have a valid California Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Willingness and ability to follow company and department policies and rules
  • Exercise good judgment by performing work safely and in conformance with regulatory agencies as well as company standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to work with mínimal supervision.
  • Must be available to work various shifts, holidays, weekends, and overtime with little to no prior notice.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


  • May be required to sit or stand for an extended period of time during work period
  • May be required to package items, lift, and carry boxes up to 25 lbs.

  • Environmental exposure
- seasonal outdoor temperatures (40° or below), heat (99° or above), wet, and darkened conditions


HOURS & WORKDAYS:


  • 1st shift (8:00am5:00pm) Monday through Friday onsite, when business requires before/after hours will be mandatory
