Description

ASR International Corporation, has an opportunity for a Word Processor to work with the Combined Regional Technical Libraries (CORTEL).


The Word Processor will provide support for Fleet Surface Combatants, Auxiliary and Amphibious ships, Aircraft Carriers and Submarine New Acquisition and Sustainment Logistics efforts.

In conjunction with MARMC C210 product support codes, this support includes 3-M system software and Assessment software support, Integrated Logistics Support, Program and Project Management Support.

It requires the incumbent to provide support associated with CMAV, TSRA, installation, operation, repair, testing, and maintenance of naval or marine propulsion and auxiliary equipment and/or ordnance system.

This effort is in support of the C210 Division Branch, which supports C211 On-Site and Offsite CMAV and TSRA support, C211 Visit Support Team (VST) support, C212 METCAL support, and C213 General Branch operations support.

  • General description
:

Demonstrate a working knowledge of Navy assessment programs, visit processes and reporting methods.

  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and ability to traverse ships using US Navy deck, bulkhead, and compartment naming/numbering convention.
  • Provide the technical services for surface TSRA visits to include the following
:

Availability Concurrent TSRA (ACT), Post-Deployment TSRA (PODT), Post-Availability TSRA (PAT), Pre-Deployment TSRA (PDT), Ballistic Missile Defense Readiness Assessment (BMDRA), Continuous Maintenance Availability (CMAV) and other Type Commander (TYCOM) Assessment Programs.


  • Provide support to the MARMC C210 Branch. Support encompasses Continental United States (CONUS) and Out of Continental United States (OCONUS) locations.
  • Provide technical support with multifaceted ASR contractor team supporting both onsite USN government and at other site locations.
  • Coordinates with ASR lead, provider, customer, and user and continuous interfaces with the MARMC technical community (ISEA/Engineers/OEMs/vendors).
  • Provide technical support to the C210 Systems Branch, the Program Office, and the Program Field Offices. Support encompasses Continental United States (CONUS) and Out of Continental United States (OCONUS) locations.
  • Represent MARMC C210 at various internal and external meetings in a professional manner.

Requirements:


  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
  • A minimum of one (1) year practical word processing experience within the last 5 years; knowledge of varied and advanced functions of different types of software.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of practical word processing experience, within last 5 years, which includes organizing and formatting technical manuscripts and associated data to produce final documentation from rough drafts provided by engineers and technicians.
  • Typing proficiency must be 45 words per minute with no more than 3 errors in 5 minutes.
- (Desired) Experience transcribing hand-written text into typed documents using correct and appropriate formatting which supports DOD and commercial correspondence.

  • Formal specialized training, not inclusive of high school, may be substituted on the basis of one (1) month of training for one (1) month of specialized experience, not to exceed six (6) months.
  • Minimum of one (1) year general experience supporting naval technical library functions.
  • Must demonstrate ability to effectively utilize computers and the Microsoft office suite and comply with all Government and Department of the Navy Information Security requirements.

  • Minimum of one (1) year specialized experience in advanced research for information requests.
  • Demonstrate experience and capability with high tempo (over 100 requests a week) for advanced research techniques.
  • Must have experience training customers. Graduate of Navy Instructor School a plus.
  • Have a strong working knowledge and the ability to retrieve and reproduce submarine drawings, surface ship drawings, and maintain access to all appropriate web sites that contain technical information.
  • Must have exceptional customer service skills and demonstrated ability to adapt to highstress environments.
  • Must be able to cross reference APL data to technical manual, drawing, National Stock Number (NSN), National Item Identification Number (NIIN), and cage code information.
  • Advanced ability in researching manufacturer drawings in efforts to procure vendor drawings in support of naval ship repair. Expert understanding of Expanded Work Breakdown Structure (ESWBS) identification codes.
