Role Overview:

As an Associate Nursery Buyer, you will play a crucial role on our buying team, assisting in the sourcing and processing of plants and related products.

You will work closely with our senior buyers and suppliers to ensure that we maintain a diverse and high-quality inventory while meeting our sustainability goals.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in sourcing plants and gardening supplies with growers and vendors. Ensure competitive pricing and quality standards.
• Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and identify new potential suppliers.
• Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with the buying team to optimize stock levels.
• Analyze market trends and conduct research to identify new plant varieties and products.
• Assist in coordinating logistics and receiving of plant shipments.
• Perform data entry and administrative tasks in support of the buying team.
• Develop and demonstrate product and plant knowledge. Share this information with the Sales Teams.
• Collaborate with the ecommerce team to ensure accuracy of product information and availability and get new products online.
• Provide support to the sales team and operations teams as needed.
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Horticulture, or related field.
• 12 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related role (experience in the plant industry is a plus).
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced environment and prioritize tasks.
• Passion for plants and sustainability.
