- Working with students, postdoctoral fellows, and senior scientists, and other staff members on research projects.
- Maintaining and organizing collected data and good lab records
- Assisting in the development/maintenance of human and animal protocols
- Assisting in the recruitment of subjects for the clinical studies
- Assisting in the processing of clinical samples
- Performing laboratory work such as autoclaving, reagent preparation, etc.
- Maintaining equipment
- Performing general lab maintenance
- Attendance at all lab meetings
- Assist in other clinical and laboratory tasks as needed
- Bachelor's degree required (biology, veterinary, neuroscience, immunology, or related field).
- Experience with clinical research, mouse handling, and standard molecular biology techniques (DNA/RNA extraction, cell cultures, PCR, western blot, immunostaining)
- Highly motivated, well-organized, and flexible
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Must commit a minimum of one year to the position, but commitment of two years or more is preferred.

The Cerebrovascular Research Laboratory is part of the Department of Neurosurgery at the Brigham and Women's Hospital.
Our research is focused on understanding the genetic basis of and developing new therapeutics for cerebrovascular diseases including stroke, aneurysms, and arteriovenous malformations.
Description:
We are looking for an energetic and highly organized Technical Research Assistant interested in both clinical and laboratory research, including animal experiments, related to cerebrovascular diseases.
The position requires patient contact, obtaining and processing clinical samples and data in addition to laboratory research with standard molecular biology techniques and mice.
Other tasks may involve helping with various regulatory animal and human protocols and maintaining a database.As a member of the research staff your duties and responsibilities would include:
