- Enhance and optimize current manufacturing processes, encompassing equipment, documentation, training, gages, and tooling/fixtures, to boost quality, productivity, and cost-efficiency.
- Monitor process parameter performance leading to production of non-conforming products, low yields, or quality issues. Collaborate with Quality, Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering Departments to resolve production challenges.
- Lead a project team when designated, guide/supervise other engineers and technical team members.
- Ensure adherence of manufacturing processes, equipment, and products to safety standards and legal requirements.
- Enhance, develop, and refine manufacturing processes utilizing expertise in product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
- Create technical training and materials for manufacturing new and existing products.
- Plan, specify, choose, validate, and implement new equipment, processes, and facilities in manufacturing.
- Support in upholding ISO Quality Standards plant-wide.
- Participate in identifying and resolving Corrective/Preventative actions for Safety, Quality, Technical, and Manufacturing issues with relevant personnel.
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests/Installation Qualifications (SAT/IQ), Operational Qualifications (OQ), and Process Qualifications (PQ) on new presses, molds, automation, and auxiliary equipment.
- Oversee capital projects for facility or manufacturing enhancements.
- Suggest materials, injection molding press sizes, and line layouts for new product introductions.
- Lead the introduction of new customer products with a multidisciplinary team.
- Create and implement Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and other change management processes.
- Adhere to safety protocols and contribute to maintaining an excellent safety track record.
- Maintain a tidy and organized work area, tools, supplies, and equipment.
- Train personnel on new and existing procedures.
- Potentially supervise Engineering Technicians if needed.
- Must hold a degree in manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Experience with IQMS or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
- Preferably 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Preferably 5+ years of experience in an injection molding environment.
- Experience in evaluating, conducting root cause analysis, and troubleshooting manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Proficiency in CAD, CAM, data analysis software, or related tools.
- Excellent organizational and management capabilities.
- Knowledge of ISO13485:2016 and FDA 21 CFR part 820 (CGMP).
- High level of technical proficiency.
- Strong analytical mindset.
- Demonstrated skill in using Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Ability to interpret and comprehend blueprints.
