Assistant Plant Manager
Exciting opportunity with SWARCO, an established +50-year-old Global Manufacturing Company located in, Mexia, TX.


Summary/Objective

The Assistant Plant manager works directly with the Plant Manager to control all furnace operations, supervise all production crews, and insuring that all operating and quality procedures are being followed and documented.

Expectations:

Hold weekly production meetings with key employees

Manage personnel issues

• Conduct Interviews
• Take disciplinary action where deemed necessary
• Conduct performance reviews along with Plant Manager
• Ensure proper training
• Shift and Vacation Scheduling

Monitors production and overall quality of work on each shift, with no shortcuts

Communicates with all employees on a regular basis and seeks their feedback

Ensures all procedures and safety standards are being followed

• Communicate to all production crews through the use of the log, phone calls, onsite visits and answer Emergency calls
• Measure and monitor production data along with the Plant Manage, set the process parameters
• Work with the Plant Manager and Packing Manager to determine product changes and production needs
• Ensures all production and packaging reports, documents, records, and retain samples are being properly completed, collected, forwarded, and filed
• Work with the Plant Manager and Maintenance Lead to verify maintenance needs and issue Work Orders as required
• Work with the Plant Manager and Safety Committee to ensure a safe work environment
• Monitors and participates in Monthly Safety Meetings
• Assists along with the Plant Manager and Packaging manager monthly physical inventory counts
• Fill in on shifts that the supervisors need to be off on their regularly scheduled days (Sick days and unexpected personal days)
• Train new supervisors on shift
• Execute production process tests as directed by Plant Manager and suggest process improvements when warranted
• Monitors overall purchasing and expenditures
• Helps manage and develop improvements and rebuilds
• Regularly communicates and reviews production issues, trends, problems, and improvement as well as research with the Plant Manger and General Manager
• Assist in preparing end of the year Power Point presentations and present are required during end of the year Manager's meetings.
• Ensures that all employees maintain clean and neat work areas.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. or aligned with immediate supervisor and plant shifts. Must be available for on call emergency call outs.


Travel
No travel is expected for this position.


Required Education and/or Experience

• Minimum 5 years experience with Cold Top, Electric Melt, Glass furnace
• Minimum 5 years experience with multicomponent, automated batch house
• Minimum 5 years experience with gas/air forehearth combustion systems
• Minimum 5 years experience in leadership or supervisory role in manufacturing or production related environment
