Recruiter Contact:Ruslan Curry- Mott MacDonald is seeking a Drainage and stormwater Technical Expert to support and expand our portfolio of work for transportation clients in California.

This position is open to our Orange County location and you will be supporting projects throughout North America.

As a Principal Project Manager you will be working closely with Senior team members developing effective drainage design solutions, training staff in drainage focused concepts and plan/report production, development of WIN strategies, and related tasks.- You will have extensive knowledge in the design of drainage infrastructure for multi-disciplinary projects at concept, feasibility and/or detailed design stages.

Experience in drainage is a must for this role while water supply and sewerage will be viewed as a plus in addition to experience on track drainage design.

Preparation and review of water infrastructure designs, drawings and technical specifications is also a part of this role.- Responsibilities may include:


  • Hydrologic and hydraulic design and analysis of all aspects of
    transportation projects, including rivers, ponds, culverts, storm drains, floodplains and
    grading.
  • Prepare and review drawings for final design, construction, detour, water pollution, and erosion control.
  • Stormwater Data Reports, water quality management plans and drainage reports.
  • Knowledge of StormCAD, HEC-HMS, and HEC-RAS and other software as required by clients.
  • Perform quantity calculations and produce/check engineering analytical data and related information to assure the design and any technical reports are accurate.
  • Development and creation of engineering products that meet customer quality requirements, with some supervision by more experienced staff engineers.
  • Detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, and detailed analyses.
  • Onsite field visits or field investigations.
  • Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers.
  • Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation, and OpenRoads.
  • Working as part of a multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex civil infrastructure projects within budget, timeline and to the requirements of the client.
  • Project reporting including progress and finance as required.
  • Mentoring and training of junior staff.
  • Effectively manage a team.
  • California PE license.
  • Proficiency in investigation studies and concept through to detailed design of drainage, sewerage, and water supply infrastructure.
  • Highly skilled in 1D&2D software and hydraulic modelling software.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills.
  • Experience in major civil infrastructure projects.
  • Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in storm water quality design.
  • Deep knowledge of Caltrans standards, guides, manuals, and approval processes.
  • Knowledge of hydrology design of culvert and drainage systems of roads and highways and rail.
  • Delivery experience with CMAR, Bid/Build, and Design Build projects.

Salary Range:
$190k-260k
