Department Overview

Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations and maintenance, as well as Power Generation operations.

The Team manages over 100,000 circuit miles of electric distribution lines and over 18,000 circuit miles of interconnected transmission lines, and operates and maintains PG&E's hydroelectric, fossil, solar generation, and battery storage facilities, providing approximately 5,300 megawatts of generating capacity for customers.

Electric Operations is comprised of approximately 6,500 coworkers.

Position Summary

The Work Readiness & Integration team works closely with partners across Projects & Construction (P&C) and the broader Electric Operations (EO) group to coordinate metric development, analytics, and monitor and provide visibility on P&C performance.

Activities include developing and refreshing Data Visualizations within Power BI, conducting analysis and deep dives on variances, unit and cost forecasts, and operational trends.

The position will support the management of the Weekly Operating Reviews as well as Monthly Operating Reviews for the Electric Distribution leadership team, using lean methodologies and principals and may lead cross-functional and continuous improvement initiatives.

This position creates tools to analyze operational, productivity and efficiency metrics and scorecards that will help recommend operational improvements and potential mitigations.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and Oakland based on business needs.


A reasonable salary range is:


Bay Area Minimum:
$114,000


Bay Area Maximum:
$182,000

Job Responsibilities
Leads cross-functional teams to support the development of metrics, balanced scorecards, dashboards, and trend performance analytics for use at various Weekly Operating Reviews
Leads materials development for Weekly Operating Reviews for Electric Distribution, coordinating with stakeholders on action items and deliverables
Supports development of Catchback Plans using Lean guideposts, partnering with leaders cross-functionally to understand variance drivers and plans to deliver on key targets successfully

Creates and supports development of iterative Data Visualizations to track operational performance for EO Projects & Construction teams using Power BI.

Mentors other team members to support creation of tools and actionable analytics and dashboards querying data from SAP, SQL, & Excel

Partners with all levels across EO to gather, analyze and monitor operational results and develop variance explanations; presents results and recommendations on operational performance, efficiency, and productivity scorecard metrics to Electric Distribution (ED) leadership.

Provides insights into operational results and strategic advice to leaders as needed.
Conducts gaps/needs assessments, capacity analysis, and benchmark comparisons to recommend and implement improvements and corrective actions
Provides ad-hoc in-depth analysis on complex issues to provide recommendations on solutions
Serves as mentor to Analysts and Senior Analysts and provides short-term relief for Manager
Collaborates with and provides analytical support Program Managers to forecast year-end results based on current trends, provides analytic support for weekly stakeholder meetings to drive work execution pipeline
Manages development of quantitative models and tools.
Develops new or revises complex models to predict business demand trends, and volume and expenditures forecasts.
Presents findings and makes recommendations to high level leaders.
Performs analysis on complex data models requiring customized reports and data and presents recommendations.
Oversees resolution of moderately complex projects and programs.


Qualifications:


Minimum:

Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Applied Sciences, Business Administration or comparable field or equivalent related work experience.
6 years of analytical experience including budget, finance, economics, mathematics, and statistics.


Desired:

Power BI Experience
Graduate Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience
Utility industry experience, 5 years
