We want you Do you like to work independently in a unique home environment? We are looking for a professional female attendant/guide/mentor to work individually with two different lovely women with mild intellectual disabilities each in their own cozy home in Novato and Mill Valley, one-on-one.

This is a support position with two different kind, funny, adorable and likeable women in their own cute and comfortable homes.

We love themr and you will, too.

This job is perfect for students, nurses, moms, or just someone who is caring, experienced, capable and wants to work.

A caregiving background is a requirement.


Since this is a residential situation with a female, the clients are requesting a female only for care, support and mentoring.


The Job:
Companionship

The job is in Marin County. Your clients each have an intellectual disability. They are walking, talking, laughing and charming.

Your kindness, intelligence, required experience with people with disabilities, personal communication skills, cooking and organizing skills, energy, active lifestyle, sense of humor and common sense will serve you well in this interesting and fun position.

The job will be engaging the people you support and using all of your talents. And you will be loved and appreciated by our agency


You will be offering activities, adventures, engagement and community involvement as well as Supported Living Services to help these lovely people stay safe and happy in their own lovely apartment and community.


You will be helping with some laundry, cooking, shopping, and some housekeeping, but not more than 20% of the time.

You will engage in great home and community activities that you plan, life guidance, protection, educational opportunities and daily plans.

You will be working independently but provided assistance and training from the central agency, Little Red Wagon, as you learn.

Your experience with people with disabilities is required, as well as your self-confidence, high energy level, strong cooking, organizing and shopping skills, professionalism, competence, toughness, and willingness to learn.


Your Pay and Benefits

  • You will be paid a training rate of $16.04 an hour for all training and meeting hours, for about twenty hours. This will go by quickly

After training you will immediately be paid $22.00 an hour for the day shifts above, $16.04 an hour to sleep on an assigned sleep shift if you have one.


  • You will be paid.67 a mile for all work or activity mileage.

For example:
if you drive 100 miles during work, you are paid $67.00


  • All event, movie, concert, event expenses will be reimbursed.
  • You will be offered 40 hours of paid sick leave
  • You will be paid 1.5 x for any overtime over 40 hours a week.
  • We also pay $20.00 a month toward your data plan.
  • You will be enrolled in CalSavers IRA saving plan if you so choose

Requirements:

You will drive for errands and activities. You must have your own insured, clean, reliable car with at least two seat belts, a clean driving record (we will check)


Because there is driving involved in the job, you cannot be on any medication with a driving warning or that limits driving.

You must have a current CPR certification or arrange for one within 30 days.

You must speak very clear English as your client sometimes has difficulty understanding language.

You must write clear English as there is daily written documentation.


A college degree is not required but you must be drug-free, willing to work in a smoke free environment, with a happy heart.

We will drug test.


You will be fingerprinted and thoroughly background checked so you can confirm with us what we already you are trustworthy.
