***Huston-Tillotson University is seeking a full-time Program Coordinator and Academic Coach for the pre-medical and pre-health career students. The hiree will (i) provide program support and day-to-day administrative assistance to the Program Director and (ii) coordinate academic and co-curricular support for pre-medical and pre-health students. The position will require occasional evening and weekend hours in support of program activities and events.TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate general office operations; process administrative paperwork, including purchasing requisitions and travel requests; compile data and prepare reports; maintain student records.
- Meet on a regular basis with 40 health careerfocused program scholars to provide general academic advising and direct students to resources for specialized support.
- Embed and model habits that impact academic achievement for scholars, including organization, time management, selfadvocacy, growth mindset, and study habits.
- Assist in planning health careers guest speakers, workshops, and site visits; coordinate special events, including a beginning of semester retreat, opening ceremony, and end of semester honors convocation.
- Assist students seeking shadowing opportunities and internship opportunities in coordination with the Office of Career and Graduate Services.
- Assist with marketing and publicity efforts in print and online via website and social media.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in a healthrelated field or Bachelor's degree in a nonhealth field with previous healthcare workforce experience.
- Previous experience working with diverse students.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Demonstrated ability to perform and coordinate administrative functions, organize events, provide program support, and contribute to student success.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Facility with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Drive/Office Suite products and an ability to learn new software as necessary. Digital media skills a bonus.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Willingness and ability to occasionally work nights and weekends in support of program activities.
SUPERVISION
- This position reports to the Program Faculty Director
SALARY RANGE
- $45,000 Annually, plus benefits
