    Job Description

    This is a great opportunity for software engineers who are enthusiastic about Linux, cloud infrastructure, pipelines, and automation, as well as open source software.

    You will collaborate with Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and other top cloud partners to enhance Ubuntu and establish it as the leading platform in the cloud. Your tasks will include developing build systems using Python, Jenkins, and shell scripting, implementing cloud-related features within Ubuntu Server, managing continuous delivery pipelines, and engaging directly with partners. Your goal will be to automate the delivery of existing and new Ubuntu products for various modern workloads, from web servers to AI aided by GPU for servers, VMs, and containers, while also integrating products with cloud-native services.

    What you'll do
    • Establish automated, highly reliable image delivery, testing, and publication pipelines
    • Develop, incorporate, and enhance new features into Ubuntu to support users in public clouds
    • Collaborate actively with a distributed team
    • Generate high-quality code for new features
    • Architect and design complex new systems and integrations with cloud services
    • Troubleshoot and produce quality code to resolve issues
    • Review code from other engineers and engage in design conversations
    • Work remotely with occasional global travel for internal and external events
    • Interact with various teams at Canonical, as well as the open-source community and commercial partners
    Who you are
    • You have a passion for technology and enjoy collaborating with talented individuals
    • You are inquisitive, adaptable, eloquent, and responsible
    • You value interpersonal skills and are enthusiastic, resourceful, considerate, and self-driven
    • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field
    • You possess hands-on experience with public cloud platforms
    • You have interest and background in at least 3 of the following: containers (docker, kubernetes, etc.), devops automation, open-source projects, APIs, Linux systems administration, Python packaging, cloud-based applications
    • Experience in Python software development on Linux is a must
