ABOUT THIS POSITION:


Public Works is currently seeking to fill two Lead User Technology Specialist (LUTS) positions to facilitate the management of IT incident response and IT support teams.

The LUTS positions will work to restore services as quickly as possible while identifying the root causes of any incidents that occur.

The LUTS will represent PWD as a LAN administrator and provide technical support for division business solutions.

Some operational activities will include managing Active Directory (AD), user identity, user device procurement, cyber security, and work order ticketing, along with server and storage coordination.

These roles will act as the top-level technical support responding to critical escalations, and supervise User Tech Specialists.

These positions are not eligible for telework.

SALARY:


Pay Range:
$86,590.40 to $121,825.60 annually.

Hiring Range:
$86,590.40 to $110,510.40 annually.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Two years of professional level experience providing technical support for system infrastructure and/or software, plus one year working in a largescale environment and supervising highly technical staff.
  • AND Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, electronic systems engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum qualifications may be substituted.

  • Some positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:

Experience with:

  • Work order ticket systems such as BMC RemedyForce and/or ServiceNow.
  • Supervising and managing technical staff including identifying, planning, and conducting training.
  • Tanium or similar software tool to manage endpoint devices, mitigate risk, and ensure security compliance.
  • Device inventory management.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to technicians, troubleshooting complex repair issues, and offering solutions to ensure timely resolution.
