In 2021 we moved into a brand new ISO 17025 accredited laboratory in Madison, WI designed to conduct food chemistry testing specializing in infant formula, sole-source nutrition products, hemp and CBD, dietary supplements, and a variety of botanicals.
This role's hours are Monday-Friday 11am-7pm, and On Site at our Madison, WI location.
The Shipping Clerk is primarily responsible for assisting with the flow of work throughout Shipping Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate
- Organizing incoming and outgoing shipments including receiving, verifying, proper storage, and record keeping of shipments & equipment. Preparing items for shipment.
Duties include:
preparing ARF, assembling, temping, coding, addressing, stamping, and shipping product, equipment or material; receiving, unpacking, verifying temping, coding and recording incoming product, equipment, or material
- Have knowledge of 49 CFR part 172 and all of its entities, IATA Dangerous Goods, DOT hazardous materials.
- Prepares documents such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials.
- Verify and document incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, occurring during scheduled shift
- Records shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, temperatures, and damages, for reporting, accounting, inventory, and recordkeeping purposes
- Packs, seals, labels, and affixes postage to prepare materials for shipping, using work devices such as a UPS/FEDEX computer, and postage meter.
- Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required.
- High School Degree, diploma, or a GED equivalent certificate from a certified institution
- 1+ years' of related experience and/or training.
- Shipping Knowledge
- Certified in IATA Dangerous Goods
- Knowledge of DOT Hazardous Materials
- Ability to learn new tasks
- Ability to think critically and solve problems quickly and efficiently
