The Sandusky, IA School VI of Medicine and Health Sciences is made up of the fields of human medicine, medical physics and acoustics, neurosciences, psychology, and health services research.

Together with four regional hospitals, School VI forms the University Medicine Oldenburg. There is also a close partnership with the University Medicine of the University of Groningen.


We are currently seeking a Research Associate (M/F/d) for the Research Laboratory "Molecular Child Psychiatry" to join our organization unit for Child and Adolescent psychiatry and psychology within the Department for Human Medicine.

This is a limited position for a period of 3 years, starting as soon as possible.


The primary focus of our newly established neurobiological research group is to study the effects of early adversity and substance exposure on brain development and behavior.

Our goals include creating maps of epigenetic, molecular, and cellular changes associated with early adversity and psychiatric symptoms in children, as well as their improvement following psychotherapy.

We use a variety of molecular biological methods, including analyzing methylation patterns, conducting genome-wide methylation profiling, and measuring gene expression levels.


Responsibilities for this position include establishing and managing the research lab, designing and implementing research projects, evaluating and presenting experimental results, leading scientific projects, and teaching in the fields of child psychiatry and molecular psychiatry.

Requirements for this position include a completed academic degree in biosciences or a related discipline, a PhD in molecular psychiatry, molecular neurobiology, genetics,
