Safety Specialist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Conduct audits of laboratories and common spaces.
  • Conduct sampling and perform equipment inspections to ensure worker safety.
  • Review laboratory processes and testing samples for categorization.
  • Train employees on best practices for safety.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and chemical spills.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments of workstations and working practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA and DOL standards.

Qualifications

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Safety or a related field.
  • 12 years' experience in Safety
  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, selfmotivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
