- Assigns work; plans and manages priorities, provides technical assistance, oversees staff schedules, monitors quality of work, monitors team projects, mentors staff, provides constructive feedback, oversees staff training, ensures quality improvement, provides leadership feedback on staff performance, and assists with goal setting for the team.
- Collaborates with staff and/or other department leads/staff on how to improve processes to improve patient care, service, TAT, quality and to reduce cost.
- Participates in the interview, hiring, and employee performance review processes.
- Plays a leadership role in problem solving.
- Oversees quality control documentation and department training procedures and manuals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Minimum of 3 years Required: applicable work experience
- Requires superior customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly and listen effectively. (Required)
- Following established standards and practices, the Phlebotomist instructs patients in the procedure for collection of specimens, collects specimens and performs simple laboratory procedures.
- WA State: Medical Assistant - Phlebotomy license is either required at the time of hire or the application must be submitted within 14 days of hire with the active credential in place within 180 days of hire.
- Prior experience in staffing, scheduling and/or time and attendance recording preferred.
- Previous leadership experience preferred.
- Responsible for managing and covering for vacant shifts as needed.
- Coordinates with Quest replenisher and POC Lead to manage phlebotomy supplies and PCO inventory.
- Oversees annual phlebotomy and POC competencies.
- Manages real-time workflow in a manner that aligns with the budget.
- Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
- Ability to move around area with occasional sitting.
- Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment, frequently.
- Lift/Carry: Frequently up to 5 lbs.
- Push/Pull: Frequently up to 10 lbs. force.
- Reaching frequently.
- Squat/ kneel occasionally.
- Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
- Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
