Overview:


Pembina US Corporation's Morris (Channahon), Illinois location is recruiting for an Operator to join the team at the Aux Sable NGL Fractionation Facility.

This position reports to the Supervisor, Plant Operations in the Natural Gas Liquids Business Unit (NBU), part of Pembina's Facilities Division.


NBU is involved in the Fractionation, Terminaling & Storage, and Logistics and Distribution of specification natural gas liquids throughout north America.

Natural Gas Liquids are components of natural gas classified by weight and number of carbon atoms - Methane (C1), Ethane (C2), Propane (C3) Butane (C4) and Condensate (mixture of C5+).

Fractionation involves separating the different products in an NGL mix out into Ethane, Propane and Butane.


Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Ensure the effective operation of equipment in the Plant, follow all procedures, and write procedures as required for related plant operations;
  • Ensure smooth Plant operations, which includes monitoring, adjusting, setting, evaluating, troubleshooting, and checking mechanical equipment and instrumentation/electrical controls;
  • Facilitate effective Plant maintenance, which includes recording operation and maintenance actions taken during shift in the operation electronic logbook, writing appropriate work requests, and performing minor maintenance;
  • Perform required operational functions such as:
  • Water treatment sampling and testing, chemical, waste, and hydrocarbon truck loading and unloading;
  • Inventory and deinventory of Merox vessels;
  • Prepare vessels, pumps, instrumentation, and various equipment for maintenance; and
  • Shift safety checks, housekeeping, and collection of daily samples.
  • Ensure compliance with all associated regulations and procedures:


  • PSM

  • Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR), and update Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and procedures as needed;
  • Attend all required safety and environmental training as part of Emergency Response Planning (ERP) and Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) protocols;
  • Assist with the LOAR program by ensuring there is no openended piping and fixing leaks as necessary;
  • Handle, package, and label hazardous, nonhazardous, special, and universal waste material in compliance with regulations; and
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

Qualifications:


  • Related technical training and/or experience in oil or gas processing;
  • High School diploma and valid Driver's license required; and
  • A demonstrated understanding and high regard for personal safety and the safety of others.

This position will require pre-employment screening including a background check, drug screen and possibly a fit for duty exam.
